A healthy dollop of Cabernet Franc gives the 2020 Red Blend Involuntary Commitment a lovely spicy floral lift, as crushed strawberries, incense and hints of lavender fill out its incredibly pretty bouquet. This is round and supple with juicy acidity that energizes its tart red and black berry fruits, as hints of white pepper form toward that close. It keeps the mouth watering for more through the long and lightly structured finale. Blue and purple-tinged florals slowly fade. The 2021 Involuntary Commitment represents tremendous value.

Coming all from the Two Blondes Vineyard, the 2021 Columbia Valley Red Wine is mostly Cabernet Franc with smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This medium ruby-hued effort offers lots of smoky black cherry and currant fruit, plenty of leafy herb and tobacco notes, medium body, and solid density and depth on the palate. Drink this balanced, charming, straight-up delicious red over the coming 5-7 years.

The 2021 Involuntary Commitment Red Wine is made of 56% Cabernet Franc, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 3% Malbec. The nose offers delightful smoky red fruit tones with notions of black cherry with a seductive mineral and spicy essence. Medium-bodied, the palate is balanced, focused and succulent with lifting tannins that deliver at a great price for a wine that was made with all handpicked fruit.
