Minty, vibrant and delicate, offering savory notes of fresh herbs, tobacco and dried cherry. Linear and firm, with a solid underlying structure and a long aftertaste of eucalyptus, mineral and tea. Best from 2020 through 2033. 500 cases made, 250 cases imported.

Alluring scents of rose, clove, exotic spice and a balsamic note of menthol take shape in the glass. The savory, structured palate doles out raspberry compote, black cherry, licorice and an espresso note alongside a backbone of firm but refined tannins. Don't even attempt this before 2020.

Slightly darker in color and consistency, the 2012 Barolo Villero is a sturdy and muscular wine. The quality of fruit from this Barolo cru shines through despite any difficulties associated with the vintage. Careful fruit selection has obviously paid off. Like the other new release from Oddero, this wine offers a very polished and careful mouthfeel that exhibits elegance, length and a silky texture. The finish is moderate in terms of intensity but long in persistence.
