Concentrated aromas of black cherry meet with wondrous amounts of clove, star anise, chaparral and sharper mulling spices on the nose of this bottling. The palate starts with a powerful peppercorn spice before diving into slightly sour pomegranate, lifted with bits of thyme and anise on the finish. Patience will reward on this wine.

Powerful, with red currant, dried berry and raspberry flavors that are backed by firm acidity. Cedary notes show on the minerally finish. Drink now through 2022. 273 cases made.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Barden, which hails from the Sta. Rita Hills AVA, offers up complex aromas of red cherry, raspberry, spice, potpourri and sweet soil. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied with an ample core of fruit, light but chewy structuring tannins and a good sappy finish. Enjoy it over the next four or five years.
