The wine is intense with excellent minerality. Its complex bouquet includes aromas of blackberries and mushrooms in the woods. The wine is powerful, but retains wonderful balance.

The 2018 Corton les Renardes Grand Cru is 100% new French oak. Frankly, that new oak is barely discernible on the nose, so well is it enmeshed with the fruit. This feels very sensual. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Like the nose, quite sensual, although it will need a few years to fully subsume the wood.
