Fine lace and silk are the words most often associated with this wine. Bright, intense colour and complex aromas evoking violet, black cherry and damp earth. According to the vintages, there are also notes of truffle and game. Refined tannins coat the palate. Good balance between texture and acidity. Long aftertaste, with notes of cherry and candied fruit.

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village wafts from the glass with scents of jammy red berries and cherries mingled with scents of dark chocolate and woodsmoke. Medium to full-bodied, ripe and fleshy, it's richer and more structured than its 2017 counterpart.

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is just missing the intensity of Drouhin's other Village Crus on the nose, coming across rather reticent and sultry. The pliant, generous palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fig-tinged red fruit, although it just misses a little grip on the finish compared to its peers.
