Silky and beautifully balanced, the Monte dei Ragni 2016 Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore is one of the outstanding highlights in this report. Made with organic and biodynamic fruit, the wine is born from Zeno Zignoli's tireless efforts in which the blend of red grapes used to make Amarone (and this wine) are painstakingly hung to dry by hand on oversized nets in a well-ventilated room. Each cluster is selected by hand. Made in the Ripasso technique, this pretty wine is determined and long on the palate with dried fruit, plum and wild cherry and earth. But what stands out most here is the impeccable balance of the wine that hits the palate with impressive elegance and grace.
