The 2013 Moulin-à-Vent Le Clos du Moulin underwent double sorting, was fully-de-stemmed with no carbonic maceration, and aged for 15 months in 10% new barrels, the remainder one-year old. I has a refined bouquet with pure dark cherries and blackcurrant notes, a touch of orange blossom in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy, ripe red berry fruit, well-judged acidity, and a silky smooth finish. This is very seductive, though the price is steep compared to its peers.

This medium-bodied red has a ripe profile and blackberry purée, plum and cherry notes underpinned by licorice and cedar accents. Stony mineral and forest floor flavors are structured by solid acidity and integrated, polished tannins. Drink now through 2020.
