The wine is mineral, dry, elegant, spicy and delicate, with a much more opulent length in the mouth. It is full, racy, pure, rounder: a very good wine for aging. With this 10-year-old Meursault, happiness is in Burgundy.

The 2018 Meursault Les Gruyaches has an airy, floral bouquet that just lacks the complexity of Fichet's other cuvees. The palate is better with orange rind, mango and light ginger notes on the entry. It feels a little waxy in texture and might benefit from more persistence, but there is fine delineation and it displays plenty of nascent energy.
