I loved the 2017 Côtes Du Rhône Vigne de Fer, a Carignan-dominated cuvée that shows surprising elegance, purity, and finesse. Notes of kirsch, blackberries, ground herbs, leather, and earth all flow to a medium to full-bodied, layered, elegant red that's already impossible to resist. It has the classic acidity and tannins of the variety, terrific balance, and will keep for 6-8 years.
