A blend of 86% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Merlot Howell Mountain has a vaguely plummy nose with some baking spice notions and a waft of cedar. The medium-bodied mouth is soft and innocuous, with an abrupt finish.
