The winery is located near the town of Capcanes next to a nature reserve park. The climate is Mediterranean and the vineyards are at 500-600 meters in elevation. The soils are similar to Priorat with Montsant being a bit more complex with a mixture of slate, sandy clay, and chalk. The vineyards for the Garnatxa Blanca are planted on slate soils. 50% of the wine is stainless steel fermented and aged for six months in stainless steel. The remaining 50% is barrel fermented and aged in French oak for six months.

Green-apple and honeyed aromas are more simple and anonymous than special. This varietal white Grenache has a shearing linear acidic palate that fosters tart flavors of tangerine and lemon peel. A stony drawn finish is crisp and zesty.

Pear, blanched almond and waxy notes mingle in this sleek, firm white, which has a slight rustic touch but finishes clean. Drink now through 2018. 500 cases made.

Ordoñez has nearly ten acres in Montsant and his vineyards there were planted between 1932-1942. The rarity, the 2014 Zerran Garnatxa Blanca, is Grenache Blanc grown in the complex slate, clay, chalk and sandy soils of this area. Crisp, elegant citrus and mineral notes dominate this mid-weight, medium-bodied wine that is fresh, dry and straightforward. Consume it over the next year.
