Reddish-brown. Orange peel and dried fruit nose. Oranges, peaches, figs, dates and burnt sugar on the palate. Rich, complex and exotic. A great example of its type. 94 Points Gerry Dawes in IWC Issue 57 Nov/Dec '94 - Tanzer

The NV Moscatel Superior Emilin, produced from Moscatel grapes sourced from Las Cruces vineyard in Chipiona, basically the only place that still grows Moscatel grapes, which has very sandy soil. Legend is that there are some pre-phyloxera vines there... This wine is also quite dark for its age, and has the telltale Moscatel profile of candied orange, honeysuckle and sweet Muscat grapy notes. They do not dehydrate the grapes, they wait and harvest them very late, with some overripeness. With some time it surprises me because it ends up smelling of cola sweets. Drink 2013-2020.

Dark brown in color, with sweet aromas of candied fruit, brown sugar and mocha. The palate is lively and warm, with zesty yet baked flavors of toffee, caramel and apricot. A little fiery and driving on the finish, with a lasting spice note. Excellent for an aged, dark-style Moscatel.

This avoids the slightly cloying edge found in most Moscatel Sherries, with bright green tea and ginger notes adding lift and freshness to the rum-soaked raisin, tiramisu and fig flavors. Drink now.
