Saturated violet. Potent cassis, cherry pit, licorice and pipe tobacco qualities on the fragrant nose. Picks up a hint of smokiness with air, which carries onto the palate, complementing lively, spice-laced dark fruit and candied rose flavors. Finishes long and smooth, with repeating florality and well-judged tannins.

Blackcurrants, minty herbs, bay leaf, and some chocolaty oak all emerge from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Jester, a plump, medium to full-bodied, round, supple, hedonistic beauty that brings loads of pleasure. It's another up-front, delicious wine in the lineup perfect for enjoying over the coming 3-5 years.

The 2019 Jester Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from two sites, distinguished by their row orientations and soil profile. The north/south rows give darker, more brooding fruit, while the rows running east/west get a little more protection from the sun and are therefore more aromatic and more red-fruited, with tannins that are not as intense tannins. In the mouth, the wine is leafy, jubey and sweet. There is lovely fruit wedged into the tannins here. There are notes of cassis, raspberry and brine.
