Bright, full ruby-red. Slightly inky aromas of blackberry, cassis and licorice. Juicy and penetrating wine, offering modest thickness of texture but very good freshness and intensity. This nicely tactile but not at all overly sweet Cabernet shows more depth of flavor than the Areyna Malbec if not the complexity for an even higher score. Finishes ripely tannic and persistent. This winery is more focused on Cabernet than on Malbec and this bottling manages to avoid the pyrazine side of Cabernet, thanks in large part to the thorough ripeness of the vintage. (made from the younger vines in the Lauren's and Owen's Vineyards in Agrelo and given six months in neutral barrels for a bit of roundness)

A damp, earthy cover sits atop tea, blueberry and spice aromas. Hard tannins make for a rubbing palate feel, while this tastes of red-berry fruits and dry spice. Rubbing tannins return to the finish, which means a raw ending.
