The 2017 Chardonnay Alchemist is minerally on the nose to begin, with notes of pulverized stone over red and yellow apples, honey, crushed almonds, baker's yeast and Meyer lemon with hints of cheese rind and jasmine. It's light to medium-bodied and creamy in the mouth with some buttery and yeasty flavors coming through, enlivened by juicy acidity and finishing savory.

A solid, if standard rendition of the grape, this is fresh, clean and quite enjoyable. An apple tone is cloaked in light accents of toast and butter. Drink now-2022.
