Firm and equally juicy, with flavors of black tea, maraschino cherry, raspberry coulis and red licorice. The generous finish reveals lingering white pepper, sage and tobacco notes. Drink now. 9,000 cases imported.

Dark ruby-red. Ripe black and blue fruit aromas and flavors are sharpened by a suggestion of spicy cracked pepper. Taut and chewy in style, showing solid closing punch and gently firming tannins on the nicely persistent finish, which features a hint of bitter chocolate.

Although still fairly young, this feels like it's a bit older than it is. There's some volatile acidity on the nose which, while a little nail polish-y, adds a lift to the shriveling fruit. There's mint and a peppery, earthy spice here, too. Tannins are chalky, muscular and austere. They feel extra broody against the crunchy acidity. But the freshness is welcome amidst the power, and the oak is nicely tucked.
