Beautiful aromas of dried cherry, plum and blackberry, with hints of dark chocolate. Full-bodied, with soft, silky tannins and a fruity finish. Balanced and delicious. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best after 2011.
Score: 93. —James Suckling, October 31, 2009.Wine Advocate
The 2007 Crognolo is an opulent wine packed with ripe red fruit, sweet toasted oak, spices and flowers. There is lovely richness and generosity in the glass, along with rising, perfumed aromatics that reappear on the close, framing the wine nicely. The 2007 Crognolo is a touch less complex than the 2006, but it more than makes up for that with its great balance and superb drinkability. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2014.
