The wine has a deep center with a dark red rim. The bouquet shows lashings of classical Barossa Shiraz chocolate and dark plum aromas, given a gentle lift from the well seasoned French oak notes. It is a robustly structured wine, with mouth-filling generous fruit clothing its firm muscularity. It finishes firm with powdery tannins. It is a fine example of Barossa shiraz from a top vintage year. This wine is a perfect accompaniment to rich meat casseroles, steak and roast beef and wonderful with an aged cheddar or pecorino.
Wine Spectator
Ripe and round, this is generous with its smoky cherry and black currant flavors, persisting against mildly grippy tannins to create a long, layered finish. Best from 2010 through 2016.

This nicely balanced Barossa Shiraz shows that not all Barossa wines are overweight. Sure, it has the soft, lush tannins and textures of its region, but there's also attractive herbal and savory overtones to the berry fruit.
Score: 90. —Joe Czerwinski, July 01, 2009.Wine Advocate
The 2006 Shiraz Barossa Art Series is 100% varietal. The wine spent 12 months in seasoned French and American 300-liter barrels. Purple-colored, it offers up notes of cedar, spice box, leather, and blue fruits. Supple-textured, ripe and balanced, the wine has plenty of spicy, savory flavors leading to a medium-long, pure finish.
